Llanddwyn Beach
At the south-western tip of Anglesey there is Blue Flag beach with super sand dunes. Llanddwyn Beach is backed by forest and has views of Snowdonia.
Arrive on Anglesey - perhaps stop at Plas Newdd (NT) for a while then take the road to Newborough. Good stops for refreshments on the way are Hootons Farm S hop (visited by and televised by the Hairy Bikers) and the more expensive Marram Gras Cafe and Restaurant (visited by and televised by Terry Wogan).
In the summer months there is a charge to park but it is excellent value to access this amazing beach and forest area with lots of good paths - most of them suitable for pushchairs. The car park is huge and has good toilet facilities.

The long ribbon of sand leads to Llanddwyn Island, reputed to be the home of Saint Dwynwen, the patron saint of lovers.
