Path to Llyn Idwal
The last Saturday of October and the end of half term so despite dull weather the cafe area and the path to Llyn Idwal was busy with hikers and dog walkers. It was still possible, however, to enjoy some quiet times.

West Bay Llandudno
West Bay, Llandudno - much calmer and quieter than North Bay. Good little playground for young children and a pool that is used by model boat enthusiasts These images were taken in late afternoon at the end of October so the lighting was low. It is an easy walk to the North Bay but it was half term so the land train was still running.

Dusk at Rhyl Harbour
There has been a harbour here for over seven hundred years. It was created to serve Rhuddlan Castle. Recent changes include the dragon bridge, a cafe and bike hire shop. Visitors will soon be able to enjoy a pleasant walkway in to Rhyl.

Bodelwyddan Church
An imposing sight, St. Margaret's Bodelwyddan, was built over four years between 1856 and 1860. There are the graves of 83 Canadian and 33 British soldiers in the grounds. There was a Canadian camp nearby during World War 1. Many of the deceased soldiers were victims of a Spanish flu pandemic in 1918-19.
The church is built of limestone of marble quality.

Bodnant in Autumn Glory
Another super visit to Bodnant Garden. It's an any season place but we particularly enjoyed the colours yesterday.

St Trillo's Church
St. Trillo's is in Rhos on Sea. Tiny, with seating for a congregation of six, it is thought to ne the tiniest church in the British Isles. St Trillo was a 6th century saint who settled in the area. The alter is built over a well. It is estimated that people have worshipped on the site for almost 1500 years and there are still regular services.

Llandudno in August
August
Summer in Llandudno North Shore appeals to all age groups. It is hard to find a place to park but it is usually easy to park on the West Shore then catch the novelty road train to the pier area.

The National Slate Museum
We love The National Slate Museum in Llanberis. The car park fee of £4 is reasonable when compared to the parking near the Snowdon Railway (£7) and it also gives access to a lovely walk around Vivan Quarry (I'll post pics another time.)
The Slate Museum is free - astonishing when you can explore factory workrooms and offices, see videos about the history of slate mining, watch demonstrations about splitting slate and wander around cottages that show domestic and social history.

Beached at Conwy
Walk along the quay in the opposite direction to the castle. Try to resist the delicious icecreams. Watch out for seagulls - they can be very aggressive if you have any food. We saw a seagull swoop and take away a man's meat pie just as he was taking a bite! There is a quiet little walk with some good views and some surprises.

The Duke of Lancaster
Abakhan Mill, Mostyn, CH8 9DX, is a very good stop for anyone interested in knitting, sewing or paper craft. There is a opening at the back of the Abakhan Mill car park that leads on to the coastal path.
Turn to the left and duck under a bridge and you will see The Duke of Lancaster! The Duke of Lancaster is a railway steamer passenger ship that operated in Europe from 1956 to 1979.

Rhiwbach Quarry Village
Drizzle made the remote area of Penmachno Cwm seem more dismal than usual. The site of the abandoned quarry village is a couple of hard walking miles from the parking spot so Dai explored alone while I waited in the car. Drizzle turned to downpour!
