Back to Bodnant
We were told by a NT volunteer that the Laburnum Arch will be at its best in two weeks time but there was hint of how glorious it will be.

Bodnant in May
Another super trip to Bodnant Gardens. Just as a photographer was waiting to take photos of a bride and groom among the rhododendrons the heavens opened. The bride put on her wellies for the walk!

Cwm Hillside
We called at the Blue Lion in Cwm Dyserth, Denbighshire for lunch. The inn has recently reopened and is under the enthusiastic management of Mick and Fiona. Mick took us on a tour of the huge inn and told us of its history and a few ghost stories! Then we climbed the hill for the views of the Vale of Clwyd. A great afternoon!

South Stack
On a day that had started with dark clouds and the prospect
of heavy rain we arrived at South Stack, Anglesey, as the sun came
out of hiding. What a wonderful place for scenery, walking, bird watching, wild
plants, information and food.
Someone just leaving the RSPB Information Centre advised us,
"Go in - the RSPB guides in there know everything!" We are so pleased
we took the advice and met Mel and Hannah. They enthusiastically informed us about
birds, plants and the history of Anglesey. We will definitely return to hear
more.
A tasty, good value meal in the cafe completed a super afternoon.

A Sunny Afternoon in Aberffraw
A lovely walk around Aberffraw with lunch at the delightfully friendly Crown Inn. Then a drive to see the 12th century Llangwyfan church across water at Porth Cwyfan.
